The LG Optimus Black delivers 4 inch NOVA display and according to LG this is world’s slimmest 9.2mm mobile device. LG also claims that NOVA display consumes 50% less energy than the regular LCDs indoors and the AMOLEDs at full white. The Optimus Black has a very sleek profile. With a depth of 9.2 mm, tapering down to a scant 6.0 mm, the phone also manages to pack a 1500 mAh battery into just 109 grams. By comparison, the iPhone 4 is just a hair wider at 9.3 mm and it weighs 137 grams.
The phone operates on Android 2.2 Foyo which is upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It seems LG wasn’t satisfied by the world’s brightest screen and the first 2 megapixel video-call camera, so it’s added another pioneer inside – the Wi-Fi Direct. LG Optimus Black has the innovative Wi-Fi direct feature that allows users to connect devices through Wi-Fi connections without the need of a Wi-Fi hotspot.
